Its Simple!!!.....Budget Skincare Must-Have

The Simple 'Kind to eyes revitalising roll-on.

I purchased the Simple 'Kind to eyes revitalising eye roll-on' around two weeks ago, and soon realised that its one of those little gems that you just can't live without. I picked it up on a whim in Boots, looking for something to sooth around the area, help with puffiness and maybe even help my dark circles, and this product doesn't disappoint.

As a contact lens wearer, my eyes can get red and sore, so anything that includes the ingredients cucumber extract and pro-vitamin B5 is most definitely worth giving a go. This cute little tube has a metal roller ball applicator which you roll over the delicate under eye area in small circular motions, whenever you feel the need. The roller ball applicator is so cold, it just feels lovely and fresh, soothing, de-puffing and cooling for the eye area.

The cooling roller ball applicator.

I'm not going to lie, this thing is completely addictive, once you start using it, you just can't stop! The liquid that is rolled onto the skin, as with all Simple products contains all kind and gently ingredients that won't irritate your skin or eyes. After applying the roller ball, you just gently pat in the excess liquid with your finger, and its dries quickly, leaving no tightness at all on the skin. It just leaves the area soft, smooth and totally refreshed.

The cute 15ml tube that promises to 'wake up tired eyes'.

I'm pretty sure I've noticed a teeny tiny improvement in my dark circles (which is odd as I have been loosing a bit of sleep this week with my gorgeous little boy having a cold!). But as I said earlier, I've only been using this for a couple of weeks so hopefully with more long term use, I will see a more noticeable difference (fingers crossed!).

The price of this eye treatment is definitely kind to your purse, which we all need at this time of year, its an amazing £4.99 and in my opinion will last quite a long time. Its such a fabulous price if your wanting to try out this kind of roller ball eye soother, I would definitely say to give this budget buy a try first, before parting with well over £20 on one of the bigger more high end brands. You can't go wrong with Simple, and all their products are currently on 3 for 2 at Boots......so what are you waiting for!!

Primer - worth the hype?????

Clinique Superprimer - Corrects Discolouration.

The Clinique Superprimer was launched earlier this year, and although I have never used a primer before, It was one of those products I was intrigued bout and wanted to find out more. There are six primers in the collection which are all aimed at different skin types and concerns. These include, to correct redness, correct dullness and correct discolouration. Any product that claims to correct discolouration, I just HAVE to try and as I mentioned in a previous post, I'm a huge Clinique lover.

The idea is to apply the superprimer after moisturiser but before foundation, and it will create the perfect base to give your skin that flawless look and make your foundation last much longer. You only need a small amount of the primer (which is good, as the tube is a teeny bit small at 30ml). The product is a bright peachy colour, but the colour doesn't show up on your skin. It blends in nicely when just applied with your fingers, and gives an unusual velvety texture when you feel your skin. It doesn't have any sort of smell, and like all Clinique products its ingredients are kind to the skin.

I've been using the superprimer for discolouration for around three months now, and although I'm not sure it has helped with fading the dark spots on my skin, it does somehow seem to help fade redness.

It gives your foundation more of a matte look and does certainly make your make-up look better for longer (which is what we all want!) You can't really feel it on your skin and it doesn't irritate at all. It just does exactly what it says, and prepares your skin really nicely for make-up, creating the perfect canvas!

The six different primers do seem to cover the majority of skin concerns, but there is a 'Universal' one for anyone who has completely normal trouble-free skin (I wish!)

I have come to the conclusion that primer is one of those products that isn't really an 'essential'. I can live without it as part of my daily make-up routine, but I can tell the difference on the odd day that I've maybe been in a rush and not had time to use it, (today was one of those days!). So overall, when my current tube runs out, I will be paying a visit to my local Clinique counter to re-purchase it.

I'm yet to find a Clinique product I haven't loved......they never fail to impress.

How to get that 'lit from within' look..........

We've all heard about, and probably even tried the famous Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Concealer, but now, YSL have added to the range with Le Teint Touche Éclat Foundation. I was given a small sample bottle of this in Boots to try, and ordered the full size version within a couple of days. As mentioned in my previous post, I generally don't like the look of my skin, and feel that it takes something special to make it look half decent. This may be just what I am looking for..........

Firstly, as with all YSL beauty products, the packaging is all golden and fabulous. A lovely glass bottle with a gold lid, and gold pump dispenser (very hygienic too!). This would look gorgeous on anyone's dressing table. I was matched up to the shade B60, but felt it was a tad too dark for my skin tone (I'm a bit pasty at the moment) so I ordered the shade lighter, which was B50. The colour range is huge, and it can be difficult to find an exact match, so I would definitely say to try before you buy.

Touche Éclat promises to target shadowy areas, and highlight the contours of your face. So whats not to like...........I have a skin problem called hyperpigmentation, which in a nutshell, is dark patches on the cheeks and forehead, caused by pregnancy and crazy hormones. (See picture below). It does fade, but takes forever, so I'm always on the lookout for something to hide it, or just make it look a bit better.

The Touche Éclat Foundation is just lovely. If applied with fingers, it acts like more of a tinted moisture and covers very sheer. But if you buff it into the skin with a brush (I use the Real Techniques Buffing Brush) it gives a great fuller coverage. As shown below, it even vastly improves the look of what resembles a map on my forehead!

Its pretty long lasting, I usually wear it for about ten hours a day, without any touch ups, and I'm outdoors a lot, walking my baby and doing the school runs. It gives you a healthy glow, without making you look glittery, which a lot of illuminating foundations do.

The price is £29.00, but hey, great looking skin don't come cheap! This has definitely become my new favourite foundation.

Get Glowing Skin As You Sleep.......

Those who know me well, know that I am beyond OBSESSED with my skin! Mainly due to the fact that I have always had 'issues' with mine, (but more of that later). So any products that claim to transform your skin, I'm sold! Those of you who continue to follow my blog will be seeing a lot more skin care posts along these lines.

Firstly, I wanted to tell you all about a Clinique product I have been using since it was first launched earlier this year, that is the Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask. I have always been loyal to the Clinique brand, and remember buying my first higher end foundation from them when I was around sixteen (and had horrendously bad acne). You can't go wrong when it comes to Clinique skin care, and this little gem certainly doesn't disappoint. It promises to give you a dewy glow, as well as protect from dehydration, plump the skin and enable it to hold in soothing, nourishing moisture. And don't let the word 'mask' put you off, the consistency is more that of a very thick moisturiser, and doesn't feel at all as if it is lying on your skin, it actually sinks in beautifully. So, does it do what it claims to do................ in my opinion, it most definitely does.

I apply this product just before going to bed, having earlier done my usual skincare routine of cleansing and moisturising, and wake up with a lovely fresh glow to my skin. I would highly recommend this overnight mask, if you suffer from dry skin, and lets face it, in the colder months, we all do. You don't necessarily need to use it every day, I tend to use it as a pick-me-up when my skin looks as if it needs that little something extra, or if I'm due to have a night out, I use it maybe two or three nights leading up to it.

The price of the Moisture Surge Overnight Mask is £29 for 100ml. I've had mine for around six months and still have loads left, a little definitely goes a long way. So if your going to give your skin a treat this winter, then this product would be just perfect.
